The Pearl books deal with the delicate issue of the birth of a disabled child, and how it affects the whole family and everyone close to them.
Told with affection and respect, the books depict the life of little Pearl and her family—from expecting her arrival and adjusting to living together as a family, to eventually saying goodbye.
Little Pearl’s story is told through the loving eyes of her brother Jacob, who is starting school soon. By following Jacob and his family, we see that the people closest to a special needs child need support too.
Finnish children’s author Tuula Pere and the illustrator Catty Flores from New Zealand have put their hearts into the books.
The Pearl series will be published in the spring 2019 (Finnish, English, and Swedish).
